Guter Schlaf für die ganze Familie

Good sleep for the whole family

Maybe your child slept well as a baby in the past and now you find yourself in a situation where you spend hours in the evening putting your child to bed . Or you are regularly woken up by your child wanting to sleep in your bed . Maybe even the afternoon nap is causing problems .

Here are some valuable sleep tips from our sleep expert Mareike that can help you help your baby or toddler sleep better:

  1. Minimalist sleeping environment : Avoid unnecessary accessories such as colorful pillows, stuffed animals or mobiles above the bed. These could distract or even overstimulate your child. Babies in particular should sleep safely in their sleeping bag without pillows or blankets.

  2. Dark room : To promote your child's sleep, it is important to completely darken the bedroom at bedtime. This promotes the production of the sleep hormone melatonin, which supports sleep.

  3. Calm atmosphere before bedtime : An hour before bedtime, you should start with quiet activities such as painting, reading or doing puzzles and avoid electronic devices. This will help your child to prepare for bedtime and end the day peacefully.

  4. Early bedtime : Be careful not to put your child to bed too late to avoid overtiredness. A bedtime between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. is ideal.

  5. Evening routine : A regular evening routine will help your child prepare for bedtime. Incorporate relaxing and positive activities such as bathing, a gentle massage or a bedtime story so your child associates bedtime with something pleasant.

By consistently implementing these sleep tips, you will not only create a more relaxed sleeping situation for your child, but also for yourself. Restful sleep is crucial for the well-being of the entire family.

If you notice that your child is having difficulty falling asleep despite all your efforts, do not be afraid to seek professional help. Good sleep is not a luxury, but a necessity for a healthy, happy life.
